Treatment Coordinator, Financial and Insurance Coordinator, Front Desk
I am most likely the first face you will see when you enter our office. I am a retired nurse, (former head nurse of Pediatrics at Englewood Hospital) and retired attorney (Shanahan and Burns, Esqs.) and have been working at Westfield Braces since 2005. From our front desk, I welcome patients and their families to our office, explain to patients and their parents the step-by-step process of getting braces, file any insurance claims for them, and schedule appointments. I love working with kids and seeing them change during the time we are in their lives.
I am married with three adult children, all of whom grew up in Westfield and attended school K-12 here. I love to knit and read in my leisure time and I enjoy vacation traveling with my husband and family.
I do a little bit of everything here at Westfield Braces, from making appointments and filing insurance claims to making retainers, making appliances, IT support, chairside assistance, 3D printing and much more! I earned my BA at Fordham University and have eight years of experience in the field of customer service and sales. My favorite part of working in orthodontics is seeing the finished products, whether it’s a finished retainer that looks great or a beautiful smile after our patients get their braces off!
I have the best commute in the world! I live upstairs with my partner Robert and our Bernese mountain dog Sadie. In my spare time, I like playing video games and walking around Westfield with Sadie.
Registered Dental Assistant
I joined Westfield Braces in 2016, bringing with me 16 years of experience, to work with our patients and assist Dr. Burns with their care. Getting to know our patients on a personal level while seeing their smiles progress is the most fulfilling aspect of my job. Everyone here works well together to create a fun, easygoing atmosphere, one I enjoy coming to every day.
I am 48 years old, have been married for 20 years, and have one son who is a senior in high school. I also have two dogs Maggie and Mazzie who constantly keep me laughing with the silly things they do. In my spare time, enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
Registered Dental Assistant
I have been with Westfield Braces since 2014 and have more than 15 years of orthodontic experience. You can always catch me smiling, and I love being a part of a team who makes our patients smile! We are a diverse group of people and we all have big personalities, but at the end of the day, we all pull together. We are very positive about life and work so well together!
When I’m not in the office, I love to cook, go to the gym to work out, and spend time with my family. I also love going on getaway vacations!
Registered Dental Assistant
I have worked in the dental field for more than 25 years and joined Westfield Braces three years ago. My goal is to make sure our patients are well informed, comfortable, and relaxed while assisting Dr. Burns in all aspects of their care. My favorite part of my job is seeing the end result of treatment and the difference it can make in someone’s life.
I am a member of the Westfield community and enjoy fundraising and volunteering for the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation.
X-Ray Technician and Chairside Assistant
I have been with Westfield Braces since 2008 and am a licensed dental X-ray technician. I graduated from Rutgers University with a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences with a concentration in oral biology. I do a few things in our office, from assisting Dr. Burns and taking X-rays to inventory control and helping the front desk. Most of all, I enjoy working with children, learning new techniques, and gaining great experience.
In my free time, I enjoy cooking, traveling, yoga, and spending time with my friends and family.
I may be a beginner in the orthodontic field, but I’m so happy to have joined it! I escort patients, assist the doctor and RDAs, and assist in the sterilization lab. I also take progress photos, which is the best! It’s so much fun to see how much our patients have changed during treatment. I’m really excited to learn from Dr. Burns and our team and improve each day to be the best I can be.
I am a sophomore at Montclair State University studying child advocacy and psychology. I hope to one day help children in any way I can! I also love spending time with my family and friends and experimenting with makeup in my spare time!
Sterilization/ X-Ray technician
I joined Westfield Braces in 2015 and have received all my orthodontic training from Dr. Burns and our team. I ensure that we maintain proper sterilization in our office, in addition to assisting with X-rays and records. Our fun, easygoing staff has created an amazing atmosphere our patients to enjoy. We all love working together to help our patients smile!
I am 50 years old, happily married with two grown children and one ten-year-old granddaughter, whom I adore. I have one dog, Lucky, and I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
Registered Dental Assistant/ Clinical Manager
I have been with the Westfield Braces family since March 2007. I am certified as a registered dental assistant and have accrued an extensive resume in pediatrics and orthodontics. I am very excited to be our clinical manager at Westfield Braces, where I support Dr. Burns and the team. It is a joy to work with a group of people who are extremely smart, kind, and loving towards our patients and towards each other.
I am fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and English. In my free time, I enjoy being a mother to my two beautiful little girls.
Front Desk Receptionist
I joined Westfield Braces in 2017, and have worked alongside Loraine and my coworkers to learn all there is to know about making our patients smile. I love being part of the Westfield Braces team and helping everyone out. It is great learning new things and I also get to bring my service dog to work! Everyone is always so helpful and supportive, and we all have a really great time together.
Outside the office, I enjoy walking my dog, Eggroll. I love swimming, and I coach a summer swim league. I also support a non-profit organization, Canine Assistants, that educates dogs and the people who need them so they may improve the lives of others.
Front Desk Manager!
I have one of the most important jobs in our office: making sure all of our patients smile and our staff is happy! I love coming in and seeing the staff; they are like my family and give me lots of belly rubs!
My hobbies include playing ball, long walks around Westfield, and cuddling with my mom Liz. I grew up on a farm in Atlanta, which is where I was trained to be a medical response dog by Canine Assistants. I help Liz to be more independent!
