New 2011 Additions at Westfield Braces

There have been many new additions Westfield Braces this year! First, we got a 3D scanner for impressions and models which allows us to show models on a screen and print out copies. Another technological addition of ours is the Sirona digital x-ray machine which creates 2D radiographs and also lets us take 3D images for more complicated cases without having to send patients to another specialist.

We are also lucky to have a new assistant, Nicole. She has 16 years of experience in the dental field. Currently, she is attending school to obtain her certification for dental assisting. She is licensed as a dental x-ray technician.

We now do indirect bonding procedures which allows for shorter bonding appointments. We use patient models to place brackets before the bonding procedure, and we make mouthguard-like placement trays to use for the day patients get their braces.

Lastly, we have added the OrthoEssentials program. All new patients who receive full treatment will also receive an Oral-B SmartSeries 5000 powerbrush. By enrolling in this program, we hope to better educate our patients about the importance of oral hygiene and receive better patient cooperation.
